IIBF KYC AML EXAM NOTIFICATION 2023
KYC AML EXAM NOTIFICATION:- The term ‘Anti-money laundering’ is an expression used for the range of regulatory processes that entities must comply with, while KYC i.e Know Your Customer is a component part of AML that consists of entities verifying the identity of their customers.
AML: Anti-money laundering regulations are made compulsory by both national & international authorities around the world and have put a wide variety of screening & monitoring obligations on the financial institutions (FIs). These obligations of AML include the process of Know Your Customer.
KYC regulations allow entities to take a risk-based approach to AML so that they can know who their customers are, and what the level of money laundering risk they bring with them. In cases, where the customers present a particularly high risk of money laundering, the KYC process should include an enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), that may involve the collection of additional customer identification materials, verification of the customer’s source of funds, the scrutinization of the purpose of transactions or the nature of business relationships more closely and the implementation of the ongoing monitoring procedures.
To proper compliance with the KYC & AML policies or regulations means that bankers must be familiar with the difference b/w AML & KYC and also understand how both terms relate to each other in the regulatory process.
Therefore, to help in the same, the course on KYC AML attempts to familiarize the bankers with AML & KYC norms so that proper adherence to the same could be done & to professionally handle the issues related to them.
