CAIIB Exam is conducted biannually (twice a year) in July & November-December by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance IIBF to transform candidates into competent decision-makers and leaders in the banking universe and empower the candidates to develop expertise in multiple areas. CAIIB 2024 Exam: Overview

 How to apply for the CAIIB Exam 

•       Visit the Institute’s website www.iibf.org.in
•       If you are a member of the Institute click on “members” under ‘Apply for exams online’.
•       Carefully read the rules/syllabus/eligibility of examinations.
•       Read “instructions to the applicant” carefully.
•       Select the examination.
•       Login in with your membership number and password;
•       Read the instructions carefully and accept;
•       Fill in the details like medium, centre, mode, etc.
•       Click on ‘preview’.
•       Check if all the details are correct then click on ‘accept and submit’ for online payment.
•       Select the payment option (credit/debit card, net banking) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the application process.
•       On successful completion “Transaction Details” will be displayed on the screen and the same will be sent to your contact number and email id for your information and record.
•       If the process is not successful/incomplete, an appropriate message will be displayed on the screen and the applicant will have to follow the online process again.
•       After submitting your payment information, please wait for the intimation from the server, it may take time to process the request. Do not press the submit button again, or the Back or Refresh button.
•       In case payment is debited from the candidate’s account and the transaction is not successful/completed, within 10-12 working days from the date of the transaction.
•       IIBF will refund the entire fee electronically.

Members who have completed JAIIB or Part 1 of the Associate Examination, and their membership subscription should not be in arrears.

CAIIB 2024 Exam Pattern

There are four compulsory papers in the CAIIB exam – Advanced Bank Management, Bank Financial Management, Advanced Business & Financial Management, and Banking Regulations and Business Laws.

There are 5 elective papers and candidates need to choose any one paper. These elective subjects include-

Risk Management, Rural Banking, Central Banking, Human Resources Management, and Information Technology & Digital Banking.

Number of Questions      – 100 questions each

Maximum score marks    – 100

Negative Marking            – No

Duration of Exam            – 2 hours for each compulsory paper

The CAIIB Exam 2024 Passing Criteria

• To pass each subject of the CAIIB exam a minimum score of 50 out of 100 is required.
• Candidates who achieve a minimum of 45 marks in every subject and an overall aggregate of 50% in a single attempt will also be considered to have successfully qualified for the examination.

CAIIB Exam Syllabus 2024

CAIIB Exam consists of four mandatory papers:

1. ABM (Advanced Banking management)
2. BFM (Bank Financial Management)
3. ABFM (Advanced Business & Financial Management)
4. BRBL (Banking Regulations and Business Laws)

There are 5 elective papers out of which candidates need to choose one.

1. Human resource management

TIME LIMIT FOR PASSING THE EXAMINATION

1. A candidate will be allowed 5 attempts for completion of the CAIIB exam within a maximum period of three years, starting from the time of registration, or until the earlier of the two is reached. These 5 attempts do not have to be consecutive.
2. Candidates unable to pass the examination within the maximum stipulated time (of 3 years or 5 attempts), whichever is earlier, will be required to re-enrol themselves afresh.

Such aspirants will not be granted credit/s for subject/s passed, if any, earlier.

3. The time limit of 3 years or 5 attempts, whichever occurs first, begins from the date of registration for the initial attempt. Attempts are tallied when the candidate applies for the exam, regardless of whether they sit for the exam or not.
4. These regulations imply that typically, a candidate can apply for any five exams out of the six conducted within the designated three-year timeframe. If a candidate exhausts all five attempts before the three years elapse, they must enrol again. Similarly, if a candidate doesn’t utilize all five attempts but surpasses the three-year period, they must also re-enrol.
