JAIIB AND CAIIB EXAM INCREMENT THEIR ELIGIBILITY AND BENEFITS
This article has been specially written for bankers who have recently joined the banking sector. INCREMENT AFTER JAIIB & CAIIB
Bankers working at a Clerical scale
If a Banker is working at the level of clerk in his or her Bank, then he or she will be eligible for 2 increments in his or her current salary.
Example:
If you are working in a bank & are in the clerical cadre, you will get one increment for clearing JAIIB while a total of two increments for clearing CAIIB.
So, at the end of the day, a banker at the clerical scale will be getting 3 increments.
Say, Amit works at PSB, having a pay grade of 15000-500-18000-800-23000, then he will receive Rs. 15500 on passing JAIIB.
And on clearing CAIIB, he will get two increments i.e. Rs. 500 + Rs. 500 = Rs. 1000 in his salary. Making it Rs.16,500.00

Bankers working at officer scale
If a Banker is working at the level of officer in his or her Bank, then he or she will be eligible for one increment in his or her current salary.
Example
If you are working in a bank & are in the officer cadre, you will get one increment for clearing JAIIB & one increment for clearing CAIIB.
So, at the end of the day, a banker at the officer scale will be getting 2 increments.
To say, Amit works at PSB, having a pay grade of 15000-500-18000-800-23000, then he will receive Rs. 15500 on passing JAIIB.
And on clearing CAIIB, he will also get 1 increment i.e Rs. 500 in his salary, making it Rs.16,500.00

OTHER BENEFITS OF THE JAIIB AND CAIIB EXAM
There are some other benefits that bankers get when they clear their JAIIB as well as CAIIB. The other benefits are mentioned below:
If bankers are to give internal promotion exams of their banks, their JAIIB certificate will carry 1 mark while their CAIIB certificate will carry 2 marks in their professional qualification.
ABOUT JAIIB & CAIIB
In the field of baking and finance, the IIBF Exam conducts twice a year known as JAIIB and CAIIB. A banking official’s salary increases as a result of both these exams. These exams are the ultimate tool for increments, whether they are taken by clerks or officers of banks.
It is a common concern among prospective aspirants how much increment they will receive after clearing JAIIB and CAIIB exams. That’s fine! There is a difference in the increments for both exams.
These exams begin with JAIIB and culminate in CAIIB, the ultimate goal. For both exams, the increment is determined by whether you are a clerk or an officer, which has two effects.
In both cases, aspirants who pass the JAIIB exam get an increment of 1 regardless of whether they are clerks or officers.
In contrast, cracking the CAIIB will provide a lot of benefits to the clerical staff, as they will be eligible for two increments, although the number of increments an officer receives is only 1 increment.

CAN I PURSUE BOTH EXAMS IN ONE YEAR?
Well, as far as the eligibility goes for the CAIIB exam, one must have cleared their JAIIB Exams before they are eligible to register for CAIIB.
So, because JAIIB & CAIIB registration as well as the exam dates clash with each other, it is not really practical that a candidate can pass JAIIB in May & pass CAIIB next month.

JAIIB & CAIIB ELIGIBILITY
The eligibility criteria for JAIIB
Each year, the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance conducts JAIIB exams in the months of May and November. There is no point in applying for the competitive exam unless you understand the JAIIB Eligibility Criteria which relates only to educational qualifications.
In order to avoid last-minute disappointment and mistakes, candidates need to understand whether they fulfil the criteria or not. Having the JAIIB Eligibility Criteria 2023 known is a good idea.
JAIIB Eligibility Criteria stages can be divided into 2 different stages as described by the IIBF officials. Below we have described both of the stages:
JAIIB Time Limit Criteria 2024
A candidate can take the JAIIB exam only a few times. The below-given data in tabular form will help the interested candidates to determine “How many times a candidate can attempt the JAIIB Exam?”

JAIIB Educational Qualification 2024
Applicants should familiarize themselves with all the rules and technicalities of the JAIIB eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. A detailed table of JAIIB educational qualifications can be found below.

The eligibility criteria for CAIIB:
As per the IIBF notification, only JAIIB candidates or those who have passed Part-1 of the Associate Exam – are eligible to register for the CAIIB Exam.

AWARD FOR CLASS
The Institute will consider the “First Physical Attempt” of the candidate at the examination as the 1st attempt to award the class.
In simple words, the candidate must not have attempted any of the subject/s pertaining to the CAIIB exam at any time in the past and is required to pass all the subjects as per the CAIIB passing criteria & secure prescribed marks.
Candidates who re-enroll for the CAIIB after they have exhausted all 5 permissible attempts in 3 years, will not be considered for the awarding class.
CAN I APPLY FOR JAIIB BEFORE JOINING BANK?
As you would have already read the eligibility of the JAIIB Course from the above paras, no person other than the one who is already in the bank or a financial institution can write this exam.
But IIBF has taken into account the aspirants who want to join the banking course in the future and want to be ready for everything to help them shift their scales and increase their income profile.
So, IIBF has another course with the name of Diploma in Banking and Finance (DB & F). This course has the same syllabus and exam pattern as everything else of JAIIB 2023.
The only thing different is the eligibility criteria for DB & F. She is that anyone can join DB & F whether working in a bank or not.
So, yes, you can apply for DBF before you join the bank and after you have joined the bank you can convert your certificate of DB & F into the certificate of JAIIB.
The benefit you will get if you get the certificate of DB & F will be that he will be getting an advance increment of 1 year right on joining the bank!
