RETAIL BANKING STUDY MATERIAL:- The Certified Associates of Indian Institute of Bankers, which is popularly known by its initials, CAIIB, is an examination that is conducted in the months of June & December by IIBF every year. There are a total of 3 papers or subjects that are required to be cleared under the said Exam. i.e Paper 1: ABM – Advanced Bank Management, Paper 2: BFM – Bank Financial Management, and Paper 3 is the elective paper that could be chosen from the 6 available options of which retail banking is one option.

The 3rd optional paper (In this article, the 3rd option is referred to as Retail Banking), introduces the candidates to retail banking from the basics such as its role, and applicability of its concepts, and then takes us through the various retail products such as home loans, auto loans, personal & education loans, etc., how they are marketed including the strategies, delivery channels, process of selling and various compliances, the MIS & accounting & some other issues related to retail that includes the securitization & mortgage, recovery of loan, & digital banking, etc. All this forms the part of the syllabus of retail that is currently (2023) applicable for the CAIIB (Revised CAIIB syllabus is applicable from June 2024)
