Therefore, IIBF has revised the syllabus of its flagship course i.e CAIIB. IIBF informed about the restructuring of the syllabus of its Exams of JAIIB – Junior Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, DB&F – Diploma in Banking & Finance, CAIIB – Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers through the notification issued on November 09, 2022. It was put out on the official website of IIBF.

REVISED SYLLABUS for 2023-2024 JAIIB & CAIIB EXAMS
IIBF has brought new subjects to the table. With so many changes that transpired in Finance & Banking sector and are still happening, some new concepts have been added to the old syllabus of these exams & some of the subjects have been replaced.

REVISED or NEW JAIIB & DB&F SYLLABUS by IIBF: One new subject has been introduced, AFB has been changed to AFMB (Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers) and LRAB has been replaced with IEIES (Indian Economy & Indian Financial System) in the previous (old) syllabus of JAIIB & DB&F as shown below:-

REVISED or NEW CAIIB SYLLABUS by IIBF: Two new subjects i.e ABFM (Advanced Business & Financial Management) & BRBL (Banking Regulations & Business Laws) have been introduced as compulsory subjects while Retail Banking has been removed from the elective option and Digital Banking has taken equal weightage along with the Information Technology subject from the previous (old) syllabus of CAIIB as can be understood from the table below:

IMPLEMENTATION OF REVISED or NEW JAIIB, DB&F & CAIIB SYLLABUS
The syllabus of JAIIB, DB&F & CAIIB is being introduced at the tentatively proposed period under the revised scheme for the examinations. The period proposed for the implementation of the new syllabus of the above-mentioned IIBF Courses is applicable from May 2024 onwards as per the latest IIBF notification.
The last exams under the old syllabus (i.e. present syllabus) of JAIIB, DB&F & CAIIB will be held during November or December 2023 (as applicable) after which, the exams under the old syllabus will not be continued.
JAIIB, DB&F & CAIIB exams from May or June 2024 onwards will be held as per the revised or new syllabus only.

Q. I am preparing for JAIIB or DB&F NOV 2023 Exams. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or a revised syllabus?
JAIIB or DB&F Exams for NOV 2022 will be conducted under the old syllabus.
Q. I am preparing for November 2024 JAIIB or DB&F Exams. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or a revised syllabus?
IIBF has now confirmed that the present syllabus will be applicable to JAIIB 2024 Exams. And the new syllabus of JAIIB or DB&F will be applicable from May 2024 onwards.
Q. I plan to prepare for May 2024 JAIIB or DB&F Exams. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or a revised syllabus?
Revised Syllabus, as the Exams under the old syllabus, will be discontinued from December 2024 onwards. And, the JAIIB or DB&F Exams that are going to be conducted in May 2024 will be as per the Revised Syllabus.
Q. I am preparing for CAIIB Exams in NOV 2023. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or a revised syllabus?
CAIIB Exams for NOV 2023 will be conducted under the old or current prescribed syllabus by IIBF.
Q. I am preparing for CAIIB Exams in December 2023. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or the revised syllabus?
IIBF has just given the tentative dates for the implementation of the revised syllabus So, the new syllabus of CAIIB could be applicable from December 2023 or June 2024 onwards, only we were to wait for IIBF’s clarification on this. But because there is no time to wait anymore, the CAIIB old syllabus will be applicable for CAIIB Nov 2023.
Q. I plan to prepare for CAIIB Exams in June 2024. Do I have to prepare for the exams under the old syllabus or the revised syllabus?
You can expect the CAIIB Exams that are to be conducted in June 2024 will be as per the Revised Syllabus.
